Kate Cain is the current SSSR President and was editor of the journal Scientific Studies of Reading between 2012 and 2015. She is a Professor of Language and Literacy in the Department of Psychology at Lancaster University. Her research concerns the different cognitive and language-related skills that underpin the development of reading and listening comprehension and the causes of reading comprehension difficulties. Kate has published numerous papers, chapters, and books in this field, including articles and books for practitioners.
